Hello Again!
Some of you might be wondering, why our first collection begins with Indigo?
My honest answer? I don't think I ever really chose it. I spent months researching, sketching and wondering what our very first collection should represent, and somehow, I kept coming back to blue.
Not the loud kind. The quiet kind. The kind that feels familiar before you've even worn it.
The more I learnt about indigo, the more fascinated I became.
It has travelled through centuries, across cultures and generations, yet it has never really gone out of style. Long before blue became synonymous with denim, artisans across India were patiently hand-block printing fabrics using natural dyes and techniques passed down over generations.
No two block prints were ever completely alike.
And perhaps that's exactly what made them beautiful.
There is a certain honesty in handmade things.
Tiny variations.
Gentle imperfections.
Evidence that real hands created something with care.
In a world where everything is expected to be flawless, we find those details incredibly comforting. Somewhere along the way, I realised those little imperfections reflected everything I wanted Seamful to be.
Pieces that quietly become part of your life.
The dress you pack without thinking.
The top you reach for on busy mornings.
The ones that stay.
Looking back now, I don't think we began with indigo because it was traditional. Or even because it was timeless. We began with it because blue has always felt-
Calm.
Comforting.
Familiar.
It simply felt like home.
And for a first chapter, that felt like the perfect place to start.
Until next time,
Yours Truly,
Shreya
